Unknown period engraved LoM not in Planchette Press

I have owned this Legion of Merit for several years and have never been able to attribute it to the recipient. This LoM appears to be period engraved with some fancy flourishes and 2 experts on this forum agree with that assessment, but it is not in the Planchette press Legion of Merit book, photographed below. I also looked through foreign recipients with no luck. I would appreciate any assistance in helping pin this one down. Thanks for looking.

Your soldier with the last name "GUY" was actually named "GAY." The medal engraving was misspelled. What a pity!
