The Rooster Posted April 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2019 Greetings all. Im not here to teach but to learn. I have here a steel pot that I am suspicious of because it looks strangley shapped. Unless its just the photos? Is it a real helmet? Or something someone concocted? The pics of the liner are kind of cryptic.... Weird looking Rivets etc. The liner appears cracked and maybe thats why it seems so small in the shell? The whole thing is really weird looking, including the paint. What have we got here? The Rooster Posted April 13, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted April 13, 2019 I am pretty sure that is a Spanish airborne m1 helmet copy. I bet you are spot on ! ? I dont know of course... But I found this as a good clue.. It just does not look like a USGI helmet. Close..... But no cigar.. And the comandante on the headband seals it for me. Good call Trenchfoot! Admin will prob yank this as its not USA Equipment........ but I learned a lot and thank you all! Easy to get fooled if you are not schooled. Thank you ........ Especially you trenchfoot! (Have that looked at) lol lol !!! Cheers! Rooster

The Rooster Posted April 14, 2019 Author Share #13 Posted April 14, 2019 It turns out that this helmet is a USA made product sold to spain in the 1950's Scroll to post 112 in the link. http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/world-steel-helmets/parachute-airborne-helmets-hsats-around-world-561647-12/
Justin Posted April 14, 2019 Share #14 Posted April 14, 2019 He said the shell is a US made rear seam shell but I don't think he's correct. The shape. Especially in the front brim area is not a match to any ww2 rear seam shells I've ever handled or seen.
