Gentlemen:

 

A most interesting story was published this week in the Marine Corps Times. As collectors we tend to focus on the artifacts as oftentimes the men and stories behind the artifacts are lost to history. Occasionally, we can learn more about how these artifacts were used in the field by American servicemen.

There was no word on what happened to the Ka-Bar. I hope he kept it.

A true hero, should have definitely been awarded the MOH. Thank you for sharing

 

Concur 100%. Hard to understand why not. An absolute should have provisions for extenuating circumstances - e.g. no other eye-witness survivors to testify.
