This Union Cutlery Bayonet was in a grouping recently donated to a museum Im associated with. The veteran, PFC. Robert E. Kratzer served in Europe in the 194th Glider Infantry Regiment, Company F.

We dont know where/when Kratzner acquired this bayonet. It seems this bayonet was produced in 1943-1944, so it is possible. The back drop is a German flag he brought back also.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

The museum should be proud to have such a grouping. The bayonet is made by Utica Cutlery and was made from 1943 to 1945. Thanks for showing us.

Thanks Marv, I should have looked closer in my Cole book. You are correct, it was made by Utica Cutlery.

The obverse of the blade has the ordnance symbol on it, at least part of it. The Cole book doesnt mention this on any of his illustrations. Is this common for Utica M-1s?
