John4022 Posted April 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2019 Hi guys, I got another jump wing I could use some help with. It has an odd wreath variation and I cannot find the maker. The only similar pattern I could find was a LGB wing. Thanks in advance!

pfrost Posted April 6, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 6, 2019 It looks very much like a casting of an original wing
Wake1941 Posted April 6, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2019 The sterling mark and catch system are odd to me

Tonomachi Posted April 7, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 7, 2019 It looks like this started off as a poorly made contemporary master clutch back paratrooper wing. The wreath and star were cut off of the top, the rear pins removed and a jeweler soldered on a pin back assembly to possibly deceive someone into thinking this was an older piece. . John4022 Posted April 11, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted April 11, 2019 Hi guys, I got the wing today in the mail. Having it in hand it does feel like a cast wing. Thanks for the help!
Allan H. Posted April 11, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 11, 2019 Yes, the wing is cast. Look at the base of the wing where the shroud lines touch. THe pin has been put on upside-down too. I hope you can get your money back! Allan
John4022 Posted April 11, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted April 11, 2019 The seller doesn't accept returns and I don't want to start a feud. It was a $55 learning experience and it was my fault for not posting before bidding. I have been lucky so far collecting Airborne items and this was a fairly cheap lesson for me to be smarter in the future.
