Salvage Sailor Posted May 19, 2021 Author Share #81 Posted May 19, 2021 The medical detachment above tended not only to the troops but also to their livestock. A Veterinary soldier posted to Schofield Barracks sent this photograph to his sister with a note that the Army NCO's looked after the health of the mules more than the men. Although many of his Hawaiian Department buddies sat out WWI on Oahu, in 1918 he was sent with an exceptional medical replacement draft to the AEF in France where the medics were needed most. Pointedcuffs Posted January 9, 2022 Share #85 Posted January 9, 2022 I recently traded for this 1911 Illistrated Review. It has some great pictures of uniform and headgear patterns. All soldiers are identified on the page under the pictures. I had to crop most of these pictures because of the way I took the picture. Here are a few I found interesting.
