I currently live in California and will be making a trip to Boston in the next week. Wanted some recommendations on where to go for WWII militaria. More specifically patches

Persian Gulf Command

Unfortunately, there are no places in Boston that sell militaria. There are lots of collectors who live there, a few good monthly shows within 50 miles, and some mail order dealers operating form eastern Massachusetts.

all true facts. You'd have to check out antique shops and there's not many left.

Unfortunately Persian Gulf is right - not much out here for militaria-specific shops. Lots of antique shops though but like most antique shops its hit or miss.

If you have some spare time, I would consider a trip over to Natick, MA about 30 minutes west of Boston to visit the International Museum of WWII - you wont be disappointed. You have to email them ahead of time though to set up a time to visit.

I would add the American Heritage Museum in Stowe, too

Thanks for the link! I'll mark May 3rd on my calendar for when it opens.

went to a pre- opening there in december before we moved out of state- Met Clarence Smoyer the veteran who is the focus of the new book Spearhead -and got to tour the museum. It's a five star attraction IMO> Also, the Collings Foundation is the group who offers tours and flights of their ww2 war birds. [i have flown on the B-24, B-17 AND the B-25- and can say it was the thrill of a lifetime]

Yes, not a lot of militaria shopping around.

Collings / American heritage musem is well worth the $20 to visit in my opinion. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/318718-new-tank-military-vechicle-museum-stow-mass/

Also it's not much for militaria, but there is the Marlborough Gun show this weekend. Better than nothing and only about a 15 min drive from Collings.
