Thoughts on this WWII Bloodied 1st Marine Division Patch, it appears used and twill.

Looks convincing, but in reality, there's no way to tell if original.    Need provenance with such an item.

And just to clarify.  The actual patch is an original twill variation.  The question is when the red background was added.

In my opinion I think it looks period done.I will bet if you popped a couple of stitches and peeked in you would see a aged outline of the twill patch on the red wool felt.I like the fact it looks like the patch is sucked into the red felt backing.As with everything in collectibles we all have opinions that's what makes the Forum fun.Scotty
