Pep Posted March 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2019 So I thought this was for a Garand but it has extra tabs and snaps. I think it is dated 43 or 45. Anyone have any more details...

Browninggunner688 Posted March 15, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 15, 2019 Nice belt, was used with both 5 round clips ( 2 in each pocket ) and the 8 round Garand enbloc. Nick.

JasonT Posted March 16, 2019 Share #8 Posted March 16, 2019 Good late war example of a Garand ammo belt, looks to be made by Boyt. It could be used for a Springfield rifle too as each pocket fit two 5 round clips. In that case you could unsnap the main pocket flap, take a 5 round clip and have the 2nd clip secured with the smaller inner strap/snap so it wouldnt fall out. I think I've read that a lot of frontline soldiers who used it for the 8 round Garand clip (the majority of users) would cut and remove the inner strap because it was useless and got in the way.
