Kropotkin Posted March 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2019 Looks ok to me. To my knowledge, upside down shields are not uncommon on WW2-era Meyers.
triplecanopy Posted March 11, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2019 A little latitude please. I realize that this is the wing badges corner, but since the subject of NS Meyer hallmarks came up, I could not help but responding. Here is another example of a strange NS Meyer marked badge. Notice that it is in reverse (mirror image). I believe that the workmen at NS Meyer got a bit sloppy at times and that is why you see so many different placements of the hallmark and other symbols. The Rooster Posted March 11, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 11, 2019 HI Costa, I think its the real deal too. Because the pin looks good. The sterling font is small and looks raised not stamped. And the back edges and the whole back side of the wing does not look smoothed off like on the fakes the people remove the black laquer from. Ive also been reading from B17 guy and Patrick here on the forum that Meyer Logo pacement varies widely. They say the best ones have the NCMEYER INC and the shield and the right pin. But there are many variations. I like the backside of this wing. I'd buy it if I was looking for one.
