hist3891 Posted March 10, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2019 Hi, This medal came to me as part of a mixed lot of WWI / WWII militaria. Am I correct in understanding that it is a World War I issue medal? Were they engraved when issued? There was an Elmer Philip Griesemer from Oak Park, Illinois who served in T.M.U. 526. The other named items in the lot have links to Chicago, so that identification would fit nicely. Also, the suspension ring appears to have been cast as part of the medal. Is this an example of a crude repair that was made after the original broke off? Thanks for any feedback. -hist3891
