redone Posted March 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2019 Hello, When was this style instructor badge used? Also it is marked Japan. Is this a legitimit badge used by an Airfoce instructor made in Japan or is it a copy made for collectors?
Lee Ragan Posted March 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 4, 2019 The "Flying Popsicle" wings are replaced in 1968 or 1969 by the round Instructors badge. I don't have an accurate date for the introduction of the old badge.

hirsca Posted April 6, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 6, 2019 Here is one that I picked up this past week. I believe that the Meyer 9M horizontally in a shield was used from 1954-1965. Does anyone have the date these badges were initiated by the new, separate USAF? I know when they were replced by the round badge. Thanks, Al
