Blacksmith Posted March 1, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 1, 2019 I mean, it’s an earlier model, but nothing there says $257 to me. I will say that blade is crisp.

Blacksmith Posted March 1, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 1, 2019 Honestly, the more I look at it, the more I’d like to see a clear close-up of the blade markings. I’m thinking that knife may not go with that sheath...
sactroop Posted March 1, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 1, 2019 From the picture it appears to have lost a high percentage of its finish. If I had seen such an example on a table with that price tag, I doubt I'd even take the time to try talking the seller down to what I would have been willing to pay. SKIPH Posted March 1, 2019 Share #8 Posted March 1, 2019 I agree, nothing jumps out at me either. SKIP
mikedon Posted March 1, 2019 Share #9 Posted March 1, 2019 I think It is an early blued blade transition KA-BAR, first variation after the red spacers, although there is not much blue left. A pretty rare knife. Bill Walters book page 405, first and second knife.

usmce4 Posted March 1, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 1, 2019 I think Don is right. The slightly shorter and slightly deeper fuller are the give-aways. Sometimes it's hard to show the true blueing in a pic. Possibly the buyer shot crap or perhaps he asked the seller for details or better pics.
