hirsca Posted February 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2019 Estate sale find today. 1/2 inch US Air Medal and British Commonwealth Air Crew Europe Star. Clutchback with top hat clutches. Taped backing. British made? Was this ribbon ever approved for wear by USAAC members? And vice versa for the Britsh air crews? Thanks, Al
dhcoleterracina Posted February 22, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2019 Is it possible to not be an Air Medal? perhaps a Brit award? The stripes look narrow to me.
USMCR79 Posted February 22, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 22, 2019 I think these are NJ National Guard Ribbons - NJ Faithful Service Medal and NJ Medal of Merit I always say "When in Doubt" - Check the National Guard Lists Bill
hirsca Posted February 22, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted February 22, 2019 Thanks to USMCR79, he correctly identified the ribbons. Now, with the 1/2 inch ribbons and the vintage top hat clutches, could these be WW2 or earlier? Am starting now with research on the original dates of the awards.
