Vincennes Posted February 21, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2019 I was examining some short snorters from my collection and came across the signature of "Roy L Kilpatrick, O-766558" on a 1912 Russian note (see #1 below, far right). I Googled his name and came up with an interesting story. He was a member of the 366th. FS, 358th FG. and on Dec. 23rd. 1944 he was on a flight over Germany. He was in a group of P-47's returning to base when another P-47 with American markings attacked and shot down the group leader Lt. Harold G Stalnaker. (see MACR 11607 #2 below) Kilpatrick and his service number are listed). Kilpatrick wrote a Statement which is included in the MACR (#3 below). I could add a lot of details, but I am limited in space here. Paul

sundance Posted February 21, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2019 That's tragic. Hard to mistake that P-47 nose especially at 200 yards.
