Mortar firing range construction standards during WWII?

I was wondering if there was a standard range construction manual for the 60mm or 81mm mortar during WWII or perhaps one for various ranges. Could there be a digital copy somewhere online?

I'm also trying to determine if on these ranges any standard for using old vehicles or tanks as targets was set or did the people constructing them had the discretion to set up whatever they could get their hands on at the time.

Our museum is lucky to have the hull of an M3 Stuart used as a target and during site surveys, I have found numerous pieces of parts and armor that was blown off. I'm just trying to get a better idea of the original layout.

Thanks

Mike

Depending the time frame there were regulations that told you how to build the ranges and then an FM or a TM, I'' have to check on which one. If I recall correctly they just give you the dimensions and such for the range fans, etc., and do not go into what type or how many vehicles you can stash on them. They do go into detail on how to build moving targets, etc.
