ClaptonIsGod Posted February 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2019 This Type 1 liner (removable suspension) came with a front seam shell I bought. Most of the ones I own and seen have been dated between 1978 and 1983, but this one is dated October 27th, 1972. I had no idea they were making this type this early, so now I'm wondering when they started and if there's any evidence of this model being used in Vietnam. It's marked with the Firestone logo in the crown, the material looks noticeably different than most Type 1s, and it also fits in a front seam better than later ones. Is it possible this one is from the first batch of them, and if not, when were the first ones made?
Justin Posted February 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 17, 2019 I believe 1971 was the earliest on a white sticker.
