Kansas Raider Posted February 16, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2019 Here is a medal group that belonged to Lt. Earl C. Kent of the 93rd bomb group, 409th bomb squadron. My aunt gave me these medals before she passed. His plane (Satan's Chariot) was shot down on 31 March 1943. Still considered missing in action. His wife Helen G. Kent received his medals. She was in the Women Air Corps. On 13 May 1945 here plane crashed in a New Guinea ravine, killing all but 3 out of 24. lane was rediscovered in 1958. She was interned at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis Missouri. What medals would she had been awarded.

bobgee Posted February 17, 2019 Share #13 Posted February 17, 2019 Regarding Sgt. Kent' s medal entitlement one can only guesstimate based on info available: Army Good Conduct medal, WAC Service medal, American Campaign medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal, WWII Victory medal, I assume she died in a non-combat crash so a Purple Heart would not have been authorized. Try to get her records from St, Louis NARA. Good luck, Bob
