This is a WWII era fixed bail M1 helmet (Interior too rusted to read heat stamp) with the rank of First Sgt. on the front, a late war NCO bar on the back, and an Engineer castle on either side. Paint definitely shows age and has yellowed and cracked. Rear and top of the shell shows more rust than the front and sides. Unfortunately no liner or names attributed to this one. Very neat, Ive got another NCO marked shell that has the exact same size bar.
