WWII First Sgt. Engineer M1 helmet

I picked this one up a few months back, figured I'd share it here. This is a WWII era fixed bail M1 helmet (Interior too rusted to read heat stamp) with the rank of First Sgt. on the front, a late war NCO bar on the back, and an Engineer castle on either side. Paint definitely shows age and has yellowed and cracked. Rear and top of the shell shows more rust than the front and sides. Unfortunately no liner or names attributed to this one.

Enjoy!

I like it (not a professional opinion, just my 2 cents), cool helmet!

Thank you both, I'm really happy to have this one in my collection!

Beautiful helmet, thanks for sharing. That short NCO band was often seen in units that fought/came from the MTO.

Very neat, Ive got another NCO marked shell that has the exact same size bar. If only this one was named, would be amazing to figure out its story.

I agree with everyone’s assessment, very cool, great marking! It’s got everything I love in a marked M-1, rank markings, unit markings, what more could you ask for! I’m very envious!
