Actually, in 1965, the title was changed to Air Crew Survival Equipmentman. They maintain all air crew equipment, not just rig parachutes. Patron 47 (Patrol Squadron 47/VP-47), was based in Woodby Island, Washington. They deployed to Adak Alaska and the Carrabien The Sailor who originally owned this jumper maintained air crew equipment for P-3 Orion Patrol Air Craft.
