Bought this today. Some things about it make me think it is authentic. Other things about it make me question the authenticity.

I've not seen many of these locally so I don't have much to compare it with.

I can't find any markings other than being marked United-Carr on the LTD. The front of the LTD's but not the backing washers look painted, as does the M1910 hook.

It smells old, and the stitching appears to have some age as well. It looks to be constructed better than the Chinese repros on eBay as well.

What say all of you?

Looks good to me, have one just like it as well as khaki one. Have kind of a sticky feel to material?MRT gives it the feel and smell.

I don’t see a problem with it. I think what might look strange, is the fact that it has not has not been treated, which tends to make them look darker - especially the stitching.

Thanks. This has not been MRT treated as best I can tell.

Not bad for fifty cents I'd imagine.

Looks right to me. Usually the repros are khaki. The one I still have has been greased. Is that the MRT you guys mention? What is, exactly? I thought whatever was on mine was some kind of waterproofing grease.

I'm pretty certain that it is waterproofing.

Looks legit. I just bought four NOS compass pouches last week, and that one looks exactly right. But the truth is in the smell and feel. I don’t think I’ve seen a repro piece of canvas that has the correct smell of vintage USGI canvas. I’ll bet yours is fairly pungent.
