67Rally Posted February 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2019 First off, I am admittedly the LAST person who should be purchasing jump wings and flashes but I am very interested in these but I wanted to make sure that I do some due diligence I don't have these in hand and the person that does have them is a friend but in another part of the country. I can get more (and better) photos as needed. The first one is, I believe, a 505th flash with a "sterling" marked jump wing device (two prongs). The second one is an 11th A/B flash with a "sterling" marked, pin-back (swivel clasp) jump wing device. Am I correct with my identifications? Any information on the flashes would be very helpful. What would be a good value for either of them if I was to make a reasonable offer? Thanks!
triplecanopy Posted February 6, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2019 Your identification is correct. The silver parachutist wings should be marked Sterling. To give you any additional information, photos of he back of each badge would be necessary. Both appear to be nice wings.
Allan H. Posted February 7, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 7, 2019 I'll add to Triplecanopy's comments by saying that the 505th oval is WWII vintage. The 11th A/B oval is a 1950's piece which can be identified by the large "race track" shape and the extremely wide outer border. Allan

I want to be fair but I also don't want to overpay for either piece.
