Flightpath Posted February 6, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2019 Hi,I found this nice 53-54-55 / 56-57-58 rifle expert award a couple of weeks ago.Looks like it was awarded during the last years of the 'EXPERT RIFLEMAN' with Springfields and just before the change to 'RIFLE EXPERT' with Garands.....The award has a safety pin catch and no maker's mark, both bars are marked STERLING 12C. Bruce Linz Posted February 6, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2019 That is an absolutely beautiful shooting badge. The Marine Corps continued the use of those engraved bars through the early 1960's. Thanks for showing it. Semper Fi, Bruce Linz

Fly USMC Posted February 8, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 8, 2019 Very Nice! I have a few of the Marine Corps dated sheeting bars as well. Some on thee pre and some the post 58 expert rifle / rifleman badge. There are also variations of the shooting bars as well.
