WWII Parachutist
Glancing through my archives I found this:
Atlantic products corps - Trenton, New Jersey. Contracts running from October 1940 through November 1945
Charlotte tent and awning Co - Charlotte, North Carolina. Contracts from March 1943 through September 1945
Hinson MFG - Amsterdam, New York. Contracts running from October 1942 through December 1942. There might be another company with this same name that Andrew posted. According to my list this company made Jungle packs. Not sure if its the same company or another.
Lub prod Co- Cleveland, Ohio. Contracts from June 1941 through July 1943
Nasco - Brooklyn, New York. September 1942 through February 1943
Western Tent and awnings co - Lincoln, Nebraska. May 1942 through June 1945
For the contracts, this listing only has large contracts, so a few small ones might slip through.

Cadillac Fabrics may have been in Cadillac Michigan.

Great info everyone, I enjoy learning where these things were made!

WWII Parachutist

See this link for more information regarding the Hinson plant in Waterloo:

I am not sure if it is the right company, but they did do work in textile and leather goods.

I have cartridge belts and probably a mountain rucksack made by Hinson.

I wonder if there are two "Hinson" companies, or perhaps they had two different locations?

The same occurred to me - maybe one company had two plants. It would be quite a coincidence if two different companies both with the same name were in the textile business.

This is only speculation, however it is possible that B.A.B. Co. and BETTY ANN BAG CO. which had contracts for M1924 First Aid Pouches in 1942 are the same company.

Referring to this list of First Aid Pouch manufacturers note that Betty Ann Bag Co. appears only in 1942 and B.A.B. Co in 1942, 1943, and 1944.

Perhaps the company switched to an abbreviated marking at some point during the course of 1942?

Hi

I think your speculation is right

The letters and numbers are that close

Especially the "9" that has a longer end

Then the "Co."

Congrats, sharp eyes !

Meese Inc. is still in business. https://www.meese-inc.com/

It looks as though their products are all plastic now. For many decades however they manufactured laundry/material handling carts consisting of heavy cotton duck bags with a steel frame mounted on a wooden base with caster wheels. No doubt transitioning to the manufacture of cotton duck and webbing equipment would have been fairly straightforward with the type of equipment and skills they had available.

Example of one of the classic style carts here showing the construction. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-shamrock-meese-inc-canvas-1807908965
