Edelweisse Posted February 2, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2019 Hi Folks: I recently picked this M1916 45 Cla M1911 holster up marked "Warren Leather Goods Co." but without a date. Based upon the info on this site...WWII period. The leather etc. are in great shape...but as stated...no date. Comments?

artu44 Posted February 10, 2019 Share #6 Posted February 10, 2019 Being 1944 Warrens dated, it should be a 1945. Late WWI production.
artu44 Posted February 10, 2019 Share #7 Posted February 10, 2019 Being 1944 Warrens dated, it should be a 1945. Late WWI production. Note that mint unissued WWI and WWII M16s are 99% former USSR land lease stuff returned back home. BTW "hip cord" is quite "crude", call it "leg thong"
everforward Posted February 10, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 10, 2019 It’s WW2 production. It has a steel belt hook, whereas all WW1 holsters had belt hooks made of brass.
Edelweisse Posted February 10, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted February 10, 2019 Thanks....that’s what I thought ....appreciate your help. I was impressed with the condition since many are well worn or “blackened” due to the US Army regulation requirement changing color to black in 1950s
