1930's "Mumsen Lung" Submarine Escape Device

Hi all, first post here I believe. Wanted to share something rare with you, in the hopes that maybe someone knows more about it than I do.

What I do know is that this is a "Mumsen Lung" Submarine Escape device, developed by Charles "Swede" Mumsen, although it differs slightly from other versions I've seen. I know by WW2 the Mumsens in use were single-hose, and I've seen photos online of units with both very long hoses and some that don't use hoses at all.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have anything on the taxonomy/development of these devices? Every photo you see seems to have variations from the last in terms of construction.
