When / if he does do a Google search - and finds information, is it OK for him to post that information and any further questions in order to possibly initiate discussion on this forum - or should he just discover the information and go back to doing whatever it is he is trying to do?

Asking for a friend.

Not as jaded as some, but the usual course of action is to:

Search here for information

Search the Web for information

If anything is unusual or odd, ask questions here

Or

If can't find anything at all, ask here and take the flak.

Illini:

Please excuse the less-than-helpful earlier responses.

I am no expert on the M15 AT mine. However, I understand that it was first developed in WW2, used extensively in Korea and that there are still some in US inventory now. It was a very effective area denial weapon.

Can you show us a picture of your AT mine?

Regards,

Charlie

Charlie- thanks for the responce; I did not mean to start a row about the mine. I also know less than necessary about mines; I am going to loan it to a small military museum that is just setting up a WW 2 display. I will have them photo it when it gets there. I worked 26 years in a Federal prison, the above shoots are nothing compared to the 'vics efforts.

Lot's of info here, hope this helps some.

PS My post was a response to Post #2, not meant to be unhelpful.

Also, I have one sitting in the corner right now.

Illinigander,

Not sure if it helps your quest for information, but in 2005-2006 I was in Iraq destroying munitions left over--on both sides--after the Desert Storm ops. We were shipped thousands of M15 AT mines to be used as donor explosives. When my contract ended, there were still lots of them left over there.
