Mr.Jerry Posted January 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2019 Hello Gents, I am a bit outside of my era of comfort on these, I know they are early but not sure from when. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks- Jerry
doyler Posted January 27, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2019 Im thinking of late 1890s to turn of the century.I recall the shoulder straps prior to WW1 for 2nd Lt. were plain. The size changed in 1912 according to Emerson book. They were 1 3/8 x 4 and after 1912 1 5/8 x4 (inches)
unclegrumpy Posted January 27, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2019 The eagle's heads should face in both directions. The yellow backing looks odd, and crudely attached. These might be something with age to them that were modified for theatrical or movie use. It would be interesting to peak under the yellow...my guess is the answer lurks under there.
