Okie96 Posted January 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2019 I just came across this WT bayonet picture and was wondering if anyone could provide some info on the block imprint over only part of the markings? I don't think I've seen marking with this before.
Misfit 45 Posted January 27, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2019 Wilde Tool was not known for their careful manufacturing. The mark itself on this one is very well done; the 1943 marks are usually better than their 1942 counterparts, but not always. I have a 43 where the WT is almost missing. As far as that rectangular indent over the bottom half of the marking goes, I would not put much stock in assuming it was done on purpose. IMHO, it's just another random WT mistake. However, it does not detract from its value. In certain cases, it's the WT flaws that are part of their appeal. Marv
