Question, USAF dress whites

Can someone help me figure out shoulder boards?

I have a couple of uniforms from the same veteran... mess dress white, mess dress black and a dress white.

Heres the photo of the dress whites... what color and type of insignia should be on the shoulders? Bullion boards (would seem so by the sewn board loops) or just insignia. Most photos Ive seen show dress whites with just a bare insignia, no board.

Heres the black bullion board on the mess dress black.

Neither the mess dress whites or the dress whites came with any shoulder ranks.

Since the dress uniforms are seen with black hats, would the shoulder boards on whites also be black?

Im fairly new to USAF uniforms, and didnt find anything definitive online.

Thanks!

In searching some more, I found that this was called the USAF Ceremonial Uniform, used from 1983-1993.

Still not sure of the color of the shoulder boards

I think the shoulder board background changed from black to blue around 1980, when blue mess dress replaced both the black and white mess jackets. There was probably a wear-out period for the black boards, but how long they might still have been used I have no idea.
