I picked up this collection from a guy who said his father in law worked as a photographer. He would go to air shows and ask the pilots for patches. He also wrote to the unit and bought patches from them. There is a good mix of everything in here. Even 4 ace novelty patches! Im not good with squadron patches. Are there any rare ones in this pile?

Salvage Sailor

You've got a boatload of USN aviation patches in there. If you want to look them up, many of them are posted on these four topics on the Naval board

Naval Air Squadrons - Fixed Wing 'V' Squadrons http://www.usmilitar...ical-squadrons/

Naval Air Squadrons - Rotary 'H' Helicopter Squadrons http://www.usmilitar...pter-squadrons/

VP Patrol Squadron Patches http://www.usmilitar...uadron-patches/

This is hours of sorting.

You have some USAF designs that date back to Vietnam and the 1960's... if these are older patches that might bring some good money.

430th TFS (Tiger and the Ball)

48th FIS F-106

428th TFS (Pirate, and assuming it is not TFTS)

4th TFS (Fighting Fujins)

581st TFS

It also looks like you have some Japan Air Self Defense Force Patches as well.

3 Fighter Strike (Samurai Helmet)

55th Squadron

501st Recon Sq (Woody Woodpecker)

301st TFS F-4EJ

The red shield with a black eagle diving, with the blue and white chequed background is a Luftwaffe patch that I had just recently identified on here.

West German Luftwaffe JAGDBOMBERGESCHWADER 32

Nice group of patches.Looks like some nice older, 60s, Japanese made squadron patches. The 203rd is a JASDF, Japanese Air Self Defense Force, unit
