riflegreen297 Posted January 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2019 This patch came in a small grouping belonging to an amazing African American Soldier. He was a Korean War Vet and Vietnam Vet. He was an early member of 77th Group, served in almost all the ABN Units (187th, 11th, 82nd, 101st) Ranger qualified (a RI also), Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Silver Star, Soldier's Medal, CIB 2nd Award just an all around Stud. He was airborne qualified before he went to Korea but according to his records his combat tour was in the 40th Inf Div. Later on he spent like 3 tours back to back in Vietnam. Were I assume he had this patch made in Vietnam. I assume this due to the camo backing of the patch. It has never been sewn onto a uniform. Experts is this a good assumption being made in Vietnam? Airborne-Hunter Posted January 14, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2019 Great pair. Top patch is definitely Vietnam era. RIP-Stop camo fabric puts it after POPLIN so mid Vietnam era roughly. Definitely theater made. With that paper its almost assuredly Vietnamese made. Best ABN
