Hi Guys

Well I'm off to a good start to 2019 in My newsest collection area with more on the way.Here's what just arrived since the 1St.Hope you all enjoy these as much as i do. Jay

Born: 19 Apr 1918 - Iowa

Died: 26 Jul 1948 - Caldwell, Canyon Co., Idaho

How sad . . . got his death cert and he died when a gun was dropped and discharged. Went through more than 22 battles and died so sadly.

Enlisted: 17 May 1938 - Salt Lake City, Utah

31 Sept 1941 - USS Astoria CA-34 (Rank: Y2c / date first received onboard 31 Dec 1938)

31 Mar 1942 - USS Astoria CA-34 (Y2c)

17 May 1942 - USS Astoria CA-34 (Y2c / Agreed to extend enlistment from this date for two full yrs. 1st ex.)

22 Aug 1942 - USS Wharton AP-7 (Y2c rec'd 20 Aug 1942 Survivor of USS Astoria)

31 Aug 1942 - USS Argonne (Y2c)

31 Jan 1943 - USS Argonne (y2c - Trans. 6 Jan 43 US Naval Advanced Base, White Poppy)

In 1945, his residence was listed as 802 Fillmore, Caldwell, Idaho, and he was still in the USN.

In 1948, he was living with wife, Frances, in Caldwell, Idaho and was an interviewer for the State Employment Agency.
