Hey forum members.

I acquired this from another collector friend in 2018 and would say it was my best purchase of last year. The vet who brought this home was Curtis Williams from Oklahoma and later Washington State where this helmet surfaced. I was able to find out some more information about him including the fact that he was an MP. I am not 100% but believe he most likely served with the 202nd MP company which saw service with the II Corps in Tunisia and later in Italy.

At any rate, enjoy the helmet.

Paul

Amazing helmet Paul, especially with the GI story.

Thanks Doyler! I know I've seen some of the awesome bring back pieces you've acquired through the years.

That is a beauty - congrats. Would I be correct in assuming that is  Afrika Korps camo?

Sorry, I didn't realize you had mentioned the Afrika Korps in your  topic line. A great helmet.

That is a nice one!  Has the correct pinkish tint to the tan paint that the repros just can't seem to match...

Hey thanks Mike. B. I find it so interesting about the different shades of paint that the DAK helmets and German helmets in general show evidence of.
