smwinter207 Posted January 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 4, 2019 Got this one on ebay. Lucky the seller was willing to mail it vs a local pickup. She said it was named to the soldier somewhere. Not sure if on the medal or in the box? So, that will be a nice surprise hopefully. I've not seen that style of CIB before? I'm guessing either Korean or Japanese made? Also, wondering if that was the frag piece that awarded him the PH? Sean

smwinter207 Posted January 4, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted January 4, 2019 I received his name last night. Not sure if on the medal yet. But he was WIA with the 35th Inf Regiment in NK on October 1951.

smwinter207 Posted January 16, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted January 16, 2019 Got the whole group along with Discharge papers and his canteen. Can anyone confirm that he would have been in the 35th IR? Usually those WIA records are correct with the unit number. It does state he was with the 25th ID, so it makes sense. The group photo has him with a 6th ID patch. So, he trained at Fort Ord in CA. The leather wallet says 1951 in Red, which is difficult to see in the photo. The back of the frame says from his son Steve. Thanks S
