ken88 Posted December 24, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2018 Hi, Picked up a few medic helmets recently, only one of them still has its straps and they're hanging by a proverbial thread. I'm not sure what to do, as in leaving them alone and avoiding handling the helmet or reinforcing them using original thread from a sewing kit or something...? 1 snap or accident and they're off. Would hate to have it happen. Please advise. What do you guys do in situations like this? Thanks!
268th C.A. Posted December 24, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2018 I personally would leave history alone. IMO. I like them as found. un messed with is best~! Its really up to you...
USARV72 Posted December 24, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 24, 2018 Agree, leave it/ them as found. Short helmet stand that allows strap to be supported instead of hanging may work.
tdogchristy90 Posted December 24, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 24, 2018 I'd also leave it. It appears that there is enough thread there that it is not in serious danger. With proper care it should continue to last a long time. Just my two cents.
