muddyboots Posted December 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2018 He was with the 9th Armored Infantry Battalion during WW2 and made it all the way through the war the 9th. At some point he was awarded a Bronze Star. Information on the 9th Armored Infantry Battalion is a little here and there but as a whole there is plenty of information on where the 6th Armored Division has fought. muddyboots Posted December 24, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted December 24, 2018 I have had a better chance to see where the 9th Armored Infantry Battalion was moving during the war. Here is where they were moving during the Battle for Bastogne.

muddyboots Posted December 24, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted December 24, 2018 The 9th Armored Infantry Battalion was also the first to make it to the Buchenwald Concentration Camp. The seller I got the Dog tags from also had a P.O.W. Tag to Stalag XIIA so I wondered if the tag was to a escaped P.O.W. that was picked up and sent to Buchenwald. It also held about a 168 Airmen for a while that were supposedly shot down in France.
