Johan Willaert Posted December 21, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2018 Hi, When, if at all, was the wear of US and BOS collar discs on the shirt collar of Enlisted Men authorized/prescribed? Was it prescribed during WW2? Any references to Army regulations for the WW2 period? Also looking for WW2 period photos that show wear of the discs on the shirt if applicable! Thx! Merry Christmas! Paul70 Posted December 21, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2018 I believe that was adopted in 1947ish to bring more similarity with the officers. Paul
MattS Posted December 21, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 21, 2018 I want to say it wasn't authorized for EM to wear collar brass on shirts, even when worn as a Class B dress uniform with tie. As far as WW2 regs, this is AR 600-40 dated August 28, 1941: http://www.usww2uniforms.com/bib_AR600-40_28aug41.html Paragraph 32 covered the shirt but is very brief.
