I cannot find a clear answer as to the question posted, I got this DUI quite a while ago and could never ID until the patch pictured came up for sale on eBay ( I did not win it) so is the DUI WW2 or later into the early Korean war?

ECB is Engineering Camouflage Battalion EBC is Engineering Battalion Construction

Thanks I saw that during my searches, it doesn't really let me know if the DUI is WW2 or Korea though.

IT doesn't help that I cannot find a translation for OCCH LIMUS.

I gotcha ya.

To bad the TIOH is down (seems like permanently), we might of got an adoption date, that is if it was listed.

On anothe forum the same question was asked about the wording, the consensus is it stands for " we conceal perfectly" don't know if it is correct but for a camo unit it seems to make sense...

The reverse looks post WW2 to me

I believe they were inactivated from from '46 to '49 so if it is post war then it would be for Korea.

It came with a 2nd ID patch, I just located an OOB for them in WW2 it does not list the 84th ECB

I cannot locate an OOB for the 2nd ID in Korea that wold probably lock down the time frame. (if they are connected)

Thanks for all the assistance I can see how these DUI's can start to get interesting.

Oh boy down another collecting avenue, my wife will be sooooo happy.

84th Engineer Camouflage Bn, Crest is similar to ASMIC 84A2 32x27mm. PB No hallmark. Motto "Occh Limmus" (We Conceal)

The ASMIC listing also indicates Cb/c, C= Era 1948-59, b, made from authentic drawing, c Insignia was worn by unit.
