kfields Posted December 19, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2018 I was going through some paperwork that I discovered at my grandfathers house (he was a WW1 veteran) and came across this receipt. What is meant by "clothing roll"? I do have his WW1 "Bed Roll" that I also discovered in a barn at his house. It survived fairly well. Could a "clothing roll" be his "bed roll"? Thanks!Kim HGA Clothing Roll.pdf

kfields Posted December 19, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted December 19, 2018 And here is my grandfathers WW1 bed roll. Maybe the second time it has been unrolled in a hundred years. I unrolled it once in about 1995 to check and see how the insides survived. The feather filled padding inside survived very well. There are a few what appear to be two places where mice chewed through the exterior canvas but for some reason stopped when they reached the inside for some reason. This bedroll had been stored in one of my grandfathers barns for most of existence and only taken into the house in the 1980's. Kim
