Curious as to the fading of the Maroon sections on the OP DI. here one above, a screwback that was sod a long time ago.

Well Maroon, along with White is the branch colors, the one you have looks Orange, think now, it would be very hard to fade enamel right, so maybe this one is a manufacturer error?

I believe that the DUI that began this thread is a sterling example made by Newcombe. For some reason, Neewcombe's reds always look somewhat orange in color. One good example is the color of the 376th Parachute Field Artillery. These always look far more orange than red.
