The Rooster Posted December 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2018 Greetings all. I picked up 2 new wings and a book about the Zagan Luft Stalag3. I believe these wings are smilo wings??? The book from what I can glean is a year book of sorts for former POW allied airman who were confined at stalag luft 3 in Zagan Germany. This book appears to have belonged to Lt Col James Vaughter... Need to do more research. Here is Mr Vaughter's story in two links. Scroll down in the pdf to read his story of bailing out, evading and finally being captured as well as what it was like in the pow camp Part 1 here. http://306bgus.apollohosting.com/Echoes%20files/80apr52.pdf Part 2 here. http://306bg.us/Echoes%20files/80jul53.pdf

mds308 Posted December 20, 2018 Share #11 Posted December 20, 2018 I like the artwork on the cover and inside. It tells a story before you read the book. A picture's worth...…….
The Rooster Posted December 21, 2018 Author Share #12 Posted December 21, 2018 ....... A Thousand words! " The crew of the plane from Mr Vaughters account including Mr Vaughter. Peters crew. I believe the names go from left to right, front to back. James Vaughter would be the Man on the left back row standing. It seems like I never see any wings worn in these crew photos unless they wear them on their shirts?
