P-59A Posted December 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2018 These wings came in a grouping I picked up to day. I posted the grouping under "14th Fighter Group, 49th Fighter Squadron...." Are these wings real?
Allan H. Posted December 16, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 16, 2018 Your wing appears to be a modern USAF Aircrew wing. It is definitely NOT WWII vintage. Allan

Bluehawk Posted December 16, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 16, 2018 From a non-wing nut... I worked as a clerk part time for the famous Petro gas station/plaza/convenience store company for awhile.,, which always has a large area offering gadgets and gizmos and sucker bait for sale. That wing reminds me very much of the manufacturing manner of the USAF wings we sold from a substantial cabinet of military pins, insignia, DUI etc etc etc and the like - none (or few) of which were authentic GI. It may not be, but from the photo, it looks like the things we sold there.
P-59A Posted December 16, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted December 16, 2018 I talked to the seller. He bought the grouping many years ago as a kid and added the wing then forgot he added it. The jacket shows the impression from that wing as having been their for a long time. At the time he thought it looked cool. I think you are right, they are sucker bait.
