Major Oak Pinback - Era? Hallmark?

Hello All,

I liked the pattern on this oak leaf as it reminded me of WWI Collar Disks. I am curious of the era, and if someone recognizes the partial hallmark/maker mark.

Thanks,

Eric

Its WW2 for sure. It looks like Hillborne Hamburger. my guess...H&H

I agree. Without the typical "H-H" in the eagle, I'd say this is an earlier hallmark. Based on that, and the fact these are not sterling and the leaf is an older looking design, I'd say these are well prior to WW2. H-H started in 1926, so late 20's to the 1930's manufacture would be my guess.

Hello Kurt and 268th,

Your suggestions sent me looking for Google images and I came across some Vanguard Industries hallmarks which look like similar. I do think the design of the oak leaf, with it's diamond dots are early - similar to WWI collar disks. Here is a better shot of the maker mark.

Doesn't look like an H&H hallmark when we go though the H&H reference topic, the one on the Oak Leaf appears to be a Eagle surmounting a shield, nor Vanguard. those the head faces to the other side then one on the the Oak Leaf, and lacks the sharp angled V, superimposed on the Eagle, the Oak Leaf has a rounded Shield.
