chris3bs Posted December 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2018 On a tanker jacket - letters EW and S are on the zipper pull. Is this a legit WW2 maker for a tanker jacket? Thank You Chris
chris3bs Posted December 8, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted December 8, 2018 I guess there was no manufacturer besides Talon.

American Graffiti Posted December 10, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 10, 2018 Talon wasn't the only manufacturer, tankers could also have Crown sprung zips or Conmar brand zips. EW S doesn't fit but could be a replacement? AG
Kadet Posted December 10, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 10, 2018 I use this vintage clothing forum for all things "zipper-related". https://www.thefedoralounge.com/ It sounds really nerdy, but zipper history and manufacturing details are fascinating. You can typically date an article of clothing by the zipper style. The linked forum has an especially good thread on Talon zipper styles and date ranges.
