usoverlord Posted December 6, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2018 While stationed at Schofield Barracks 25th Infantry Div. I had the profound honor of being part of the honor guard/fireing squad detail at Punchbowl. The duty lasted 30 days and consisted of a single squad of eight. One squad leader and seven riflemen (aka the firing squad). During those thirty days we did 44 funerals for every branch of service, WW1 thru Viet Nam. Those 30 days were the pinnacle of my service. God bless the veterans all.
