Salvage Sailor Posted December 6, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 6, 2018 Nice post, One of my favorite bits of naval trivia is in regard to my fathers Battleship, the USS MISSISSIPPI. She is the only USN ship with a Castle on her tote board, racked up for destroying Shuri Castle on Okinawa in 1945

Allan H. Posted December 6, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 6, 2018 Eugene Fluckey was a great commander and leader when he skippered the Barb in WWII. I've always wished that Hollywood would do a movie about him as reality would far outstrip fantasy in his story. Forum member Dave used to have one of Fluckey's uniforms. I don't know if he still does or not, but the uniform is posted here on the forum. Allan
