ssg keay Posted December 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2018 Hi there gentlemen, I have been offered a Schlueter M1 helmet in fair condition, with no liner. I wonder if $100 is too much for the helmet. I attached some photos. I have never owned a WW2 US infantry helmet as I normally collect WW2 flight helmets. Thanks, Danny
Mr.Jerry Posted December 2, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 2, 2018 $100 is too much IMO, post war repaint with the metal strap clips, I'd think this was a VN era configuration. I would put a liner in this one and price it at $45 in my shop. $75 if I added a Mitchell camo cover.
stealthytyler Posted December 2, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 2, 2018 Buy it if you absolutely love it but you will never get your money back at $100 if you decide to sell.
ssg keay Posted December 2, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted December 2, 2018 Thanks for the answers. It was based on the belief that all Schuelers were WW2 helmets, as I had read that on several M1 sites.
Justin Posted December 3, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 3, 2018 Thanks for the answers. It was based on the belief that all Schuelers were WW2 helmets, as I had read that on several M1 sites. The shell itself was made during ww2 yes but the repaint and post war chinstrap indicate post war use. It's not worth $100.
