Found this Vietnam era dated wooden crate from a barn, to my surprise it had the three matching fibre tubes in it....the rarity is they were " jungle wrapped", the fibre tubes were wrapped in a wax like paper to combat the humidity. I am not aware of any surviving jungle wrapped examples, for obvious reasons. I " refurbished" the 1974 dated mortar round to as issued condition.

That's a great find, and I like the refurbed mortar round. Very slick.

Here is an image of an Air Force Security Policeman with an 81mm mortar which is also, I think, Vietnam era.

That is pretty funny, "raked soil in the pit"! I do like the AF beret. The army guys would probably out shoot the AF guy any day of the week and twice on Sunday! Thanks for posting the photo's and I do like the round, it looks scary real! Is it marked INERT anywhere? Police bomb squads love to blow stuff up that looks like that!
