Artillero Posted November 26, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2018 Fellow collectors, I just purchased an M1910 WW1 meat can dated 1915 and manufactured by RIA. It is the shallow plate version. It has the name Sorley on the handle along with K 6. Would this indicate K Company of the 6th Inf Regt? The knife is made by RIA, dated 1916 and marked with the number 134 and the fork is made by WB, dated 1917 and marked 339 M90 . What significance would these numbers on the silverware have? Thank you, Artillero
patches Posted November 26, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2018 K 6 possibly K Co 6th infantry, or K Batt 6th Artillery, or even K Co 6th Cavalry. The other number on the other items may be stock/model numbers.
Artillero Posted November 26, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted November 26, 2018 Thank you. This is helpful. I will try to track down the soldier named Sorley.
